Creative Zine Structures
In this workshop, we’ll get creative with structures and materials for self-publishing. Explore alternative ways of folding and assembling zines, and experiment with making content out of irregular and found materials: combining paper, textiles, found poetry, stitching, stamping, and more.
Tools and materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own collage materials as well, e.g. textiles, found papers, notes, loose drawings, printed screenshots, receipts, etc.
In this course you will learn:
Alternative and unusual methods for assembling zines.
How to put zines together with irregular and found materials.
How to create content for zines through collaging, found poetry, and more.
Level of Experience / Skills Required
All levels; no prior book-making experience required.

Instructor:
Elijah Harrison is a book artist, printmaker, and writer based in Scarborough. They have a BFA in Criticism & Curatorial Practice from OCAD University, where they minored in (and found a love for) printmaking and publications. Elijah’s practice currently revolves around publication based work, producing books through their recently launched press, Glass Creature Editions.
