Endpapers, or the folded paper that connects the textblock of a book to its cover, have changed over time. In this workshop, we’ll spend the day making models of endpapers, looking at the function of their varied parts. We’ll discuss the best options for different types of books, and students will go home with a sampler set of endpaper variations.

In this course you will learn:
History of book construction.
Folding and assembly of endpaper variations.
Proper use of bookbinding tools and materials.
Level of Experience / Skills Required
All levels; no prior book-making experience required. Some comfort with accurate measuring, folding, and cutting with blades/knives is needed to master the skills taught in this workshop.
All tools and materials included but students are welcome to bring their own small bookbinding tools.
