Italian Long Stitch Binding

The long stitch book was common to accountants and record keepers in 16th Century Italy. In one night, we will construct a modern variation using the long stitch method with multiple sections, adding the pages into your books. This sewing method has rows of sewing on the spine that serve as a decorative element as well as the structure. Participants will go home with a completed book.

In this course you will learn:

How to use the bookbinding tools.
Knowledge of bookmaking materials and their qualities.
How to make a sewn book with attached cover.

Level of Experience / Skills Required

All levels; no prior book-making experience required.

Registration of $60 + $20 materials fee = $80.00 + HST
