Books for photographers and printmakers
This workshop will present book structures ideal for artists making imagery one side of sheets of paper, such as photographers, printmakers, and collage artists. The class will cover the Drum Leaf Binding, Storage Book, and Multiple-Leaf Accordion structures. These binding methods allow for easy arrangement of imagery, from one image to the next throughout the book and are constructed with adhesive, creating uninterrupted images across the pages. These structures are also perfect for making journals and sketchbooks. Students are encouraged to have samples of their favorite papers on hand to discuss and sample prints to bind in the workshop.
In this course you will learn:
How to use the bookbinding tools.
Knowledge of bookmaking materials and their qualities.
Three (3) book structures ideal for prints and photographs.
The skills to make more books for journals, sketchbooks, or artwork to your specifications.
